No 27 Awolowo road, opposite the new Guaranty Trust Bank, Old Bodija, Ibadan.
First impression? Nice enough parking lot.
A relatively new place, might be easy to miss as it’s a shared complex but they always say ‘’you will always find what you’re looking for’’. We were first greeted by a Shawarma kiosk, I guess this is for starters!
The dining space is moderately sized, but it’s pretty neat! More interesting is the lounge at the back for drinks and cocktails. This is a hidden gem, and is perfect for relaxing without loud music interrupting your conversation.
Our guest for the day? Welcome Mr Prince, CEO of OB Events & Security, and a brother of Jeun!
We were warmly welcomed and ushered to our table. They have a wide menu option ranging from soups, continental and traditional meals. We settled for the D’s spaghetti (stir fry spaghetti with sesame oil, seasoned vegetable and spices served with chicken), Beef Shawarma, and Beef Stroganoff (shredded beef fillet with onions, green pepper served with basmati rice).
After about 30 minutes the food was served. The beef stroganoff was okay, nothing we haven’t tried before. We got bored with the basmati rice. Maybe Basmati is not my thing. The spaghetti on the other hand was a trip. I mean I’ve had spaghetti before but this was different. It had a lot going on for it. Each bite seems well blended with the spice and just enough post peppery flavor. A lot of shredded chicken in the mix but not so much to cause confusion. This has to be the meal of week!
D’s spaghetti- N1600
Beef stroganoff- N2100
Beef shawarma- N1000
Review by our guest @Kingob (Instagram): “I’m really glad we came here. It’s very comfortable, quiet with a homey feel. The attendant was very nice, nice enough to pour my drink and make me feel like a King. I preferred the D’s spaghetti. No wonder it’s a signature dish. I believe with perseverance, it’d become a major venture “
Recommendations: It’s a very calm and quiet place. Ideal for dates, hang outs, or for an in-between work lunch. If you’re looking for continental dish with a tight budget, D’s kitchen is the place for you as the prices are very reasonable.
